i have a long and narrow face...and right now i have long hair, should i keep it long or should i have it shorteR? which styles will look better with a longer face?

Oh yeah, that's pretty easy!

Alrighty, first put your hair in a high ponytail.

Then, grab the end of the pony tail and twist it til it becomes like a bun.

Use a rubber band to hold it all together!

The secret is to not use a brush when you put your hair in a ponytail!

I use to have super long hair until i cut off 1 foot and 2 inches. I use to put it up how i want it pretty tight. then I would either sleep in it like that or take a blow dryer and a comb and lightly sweep it the opposite way. If you have layers it will work better.

my hair is almost to my butt and this is what i do.

first i wet all my hair down. then i put it into a ponytail.

i put gel or mousse for scrunching in it, then i kinda scrunch it into a messy bun, put a hair tie to keep it in place, but i leave a lot of the hair falling out so it doesnt look dumb. then the hair that is falling out that needs to be part of the bun i use bobby pins and pin it up, and usually its a fairly large messy bun but its super cute! and i also tie a ribbon around it! lol

I don't really get it either. I personally think that long hair is really attractive on guys. There is a limit though. If it's until the middle of the back, that's too long for most guys..but some guys can pull that off. I think girls look fine with short hair. As long as it doesn't look bad on the face structure, there's not really problem with it. Don't cut your hair no matter how many people tell you to because there are a lot of women out there who love it : )

Hey I actually perfer guys with long hair! I like their hair to be long and just to let you know when guys grow out their hair some of them are blessed to have even more gorgeous hair. I have a friend and his hair is solid natural black and it's straight and so shiny...i envy him and yet I was mad that he cut his hair short. But I don't have a problem though. My 4 1/2 year old daughter used to have long hair just 3 inch above her bottom. I come to pick her up from Daycare and her hair is chopped to her shoulders. I ask them what happened, they said her hair got stuck in the toilet and cutting her hair was needed. Why couldn't they have just told me, I would have cut her hair myself, and cutting it to her shoulders was way too extreme! This was her first haircut :-(

I would report the daycare. I don't see why they would have to cut off that much hair!!! When I was little my friend went to daycare and they cut her hair for NO reason. I would contact all the parents from that daycare and warn them about what happen... I also am curious about why they did not call you. I had a daycare worker grease up my child's head and put a million beads in it so I kinda know where you're coming from (my daughter's biracial and she's never had her spiral curls GREASED!) I was so angry and I felt betrayed and hurt. You have to understand that not all daycares are the same. First of all you can report them to the Better Business Bureau you can also do some research online if there's a recommendation site for daycares in your area post in the forum what happened to warn other moms. Also...daycares really are best for her they'll help her socially and get her ready for preschool. It's gonna be more rough on you but you should put her in another one. Show mama (on your toilet at home) ALSO when you find another daycare and you're doing the paperwork tell the Director do not touch her hair without calling me no matter what I must be notified before anything on her body gets altered from how I brought her. They had "no right" to do anything to your child. How do they know.....it might have been against your religious faith to cut the hair. It is not for them to decide.

I know that a lot of the other respondents think it's not possible for a kid to get all her hair stuck in a toilet, but trust me, kids do really weird stuff. Imagine this: your daughter and her friends take the top off the tank of the toilet and look inside. Her hair gets into the tank and someone flushes. He hair is totally wrapped around the levers and chains inside the tank, and some has gotten trapped down the drain. She starts screaming bloody murder and thrashing around. I'm not sure what is going on with the daycare workers. Either they are jelous or some underlying problem happened. They probably lied to you because they know the average parent will not beilieve anything there kid says, so they think they could get away with saying it got caught in the toilet. I mean really how can your hair get cought in a toilet?? It's not like your daughter dipped her head inside the bowl and even if she did that it would just float on the water... Something is going wrong here that they aren't telling you about. You should probably talk to a lawyer or something and sue them or something.

This sort of thing happened to one of my little cousins at a church daycare center, but they put her in an emptied non working fridge and told her there were monsters in there and they put her in and shut the door and left her in there! It probably wasn't long but enough to freak her out. She came home and mentioned to her parents she was put in a refrigerator and so the next day they had her show them the fridge she was put in and it was an emptied out non working fridge!! I think they ended up contacting a lawyer or something and it ended up that the daycare lady had a bad background and she ended up being put in jail!

Honestly, really, really long hair is pretty rare these days. I'm not sure how it got connected with attractiveness, but long hair on women is the norm now, just as is the case with shor-haired clean-shaven men. You don't many many "bachelors" sporting facial hair, outside of sideburns, and long-hair on a man is treated as some end-all metrosexual symbol.

It's totally up to you. You could always put pics and see what people think, but in the end, what people think "would look good on you" is all about what they think you look like. For instance, people may see you and think long hair suits you, but if you're hair was already short before they ever met you, they would probably think differently.

I totally feel for you man, I have long hair myself- long, thick and curly. I scoured the net for hairstyles, couldn't find much of anything for men. For now, I'm lucky to have a friend pursuing a career in hairdressing and the like, so she cuts mine periodically, but besides that, I don't know. I'm in the process of figuring it out too. One thing I might suggest, if your just looking for ideas, would be movies, movies and magazines. As for actually getting it styled, maybe print out a picture, and take it to a salon, ask if they can do it. Chances are they can. I don't know what else to tell you, other than to just get creative and figure something out. I usually tie mine back, and I've found many ways of doing so. I have a bunch of standardized elastic like black hair ties, like anyone would use. I also sometimes use strips of leather of varying length for different things too. Hair gel can work wonders too. My hair is shoulder length now, but as it was growing out, I often gelled it, for a rather unique look that worked well for me. Bottom-line: there are a lot of things you can do, get creative, try different things, and see what looks good for you, and what you like. Best of luck to you.

A braid is a good place to start. Make a braid fairly high on your head and fasten it with a hair safe elastic or hosery. Now, wind the braid around it's self, making a flat, smooth spiral from the inside out. Tuck the end of the braid and the tie under the coil and anchor the coil to your head. You can use hairsticks, a Ficcare or Fakkare clip or hairpins. This is a pretty, elegant easy, well balanced hairstyle that will last all day.

A simple cinnamon bun is pretty and easy and will keep your hair off your neck and neat all day. Just gather your hair in a ponytail about halfway up the bak of your head. Don't tie it off. Gently twist your hair into a rope. Not too tight, tho. Wind the rope in a roll on the back of your head, spirialling out from the inside, laying the coils of hair flat against your head, outside the inner one. Tuck the end of the coil in under the roll, then pin or clip or fasten with hairsticks.

There are tons and tons of beautiful, easy, fun styles for long hair. They just take a little knowhow and a little practice. An updo is timeless, elegant, pretty and keeps you cool and comfy in the Summer. :)

As a hairstylist I suggest cutting it! Hair that long takes a very long time to style, its hard to work with as well. You should consider cutting it to about your breasts. why not try putting mousse in it? For some beach waves, or why not try some loose curls?

another hairstyl that is very quick and easy is scrunching hair. all you have to do is blow dry your hair a bit when your out of the shower, just until its a little damp. then spray hair spray all over one side of your hair and srunch up ur hair with your hands. then do the same to the other side. it will tak only up to 15 minutes and you will look amazing

another thing you can do is try a half pony tail it wil bring up some of your hair so it doesnt get in your face and you will look way better than when wearing a braid or ponytail

Oh, I know how u feel. My hair is the same lenght as yours. About the waist. Summer turns to a nightmare. Try this: Make a high ponytail(not too hight though), then take the "hanging" hair and somehow wrap it around the hair band(I mean the where the ponytail starts). You could try styling your hair with a quiff at the front and then pull it into a ponytail at the back.

I know other people have suggested cutting it but if you do you may regrett it, what i would suggets is get it styled, maybe a few layers as it will allow your hair to move a lot more and may not be as hot when you wear it down. Another choice could be to ringlet it , as it curls will take a few inches off the ends.

You could also pull your hair round into a side ponytail that way it is not gonna be hot on your back.

Or for summer you could get it braided, to your head.

Try changing to a different conditioner. It sounds like she has the thing, delicate kind of hair that gets knotted by even the faintest gust of wind. I had the same problem when I was in the 4th grade. I just hated brushing my hair because it was too long and it hurt too much. What worked for me was a really good-smelling conditioner--one of those "No Tears" kinds of conditioners--and a brush that had a lot of straight-line, thin, shiney-black plastic bristles as opposed to those standard, thicker bristled-brushes that have circles at the tops of every single bristle.

Also, if it hurts to brush it, try using the technique of holding a bit of hair in one hand and brushing it in the other. When you move the brush over the hair, the tension (and pain) stops where the hand is gripping the hair; next to no pain is felt at the root of the hair, on the scalp.

this is something she needs to talk to your hubby about. If he is OK with her cutting it he needs to talk to his ex about getting it cut. you could always braid it after she washes it or before going to bed that helps to keep the knots out or put it up in a bun. My daughter does this with my granddaughters hair. If she can't reach it then either you or her father should be helping her. I know my mom used to do this when i was younger.

Ok Ladies: First get the hair cut professionally and ask them to recomend a hair supplement to prevent tangles. You don't have to go shorter just maybe thin it out. I don't really know the texture of her hair but you could try using a scarf to cover her hair after she brushes it. Brush her hair then put it in a ponytail or just twist it up. That way she won't mess it up if she is laying down or in the house playing. As long as you leave it exposed it will always get tangled. That is what I do and I have long hair. I only take my scarf off when I leave the house.

I am damned arrogant about my hair, cuz it's down to my hips and as healthy as ever. Leave her hair ratty for the week, and then comb it, roughly like my mother did. Sooner or later she's going to want to brush it on her own. Hahha. Then give her biosilk after every shower, or some detangling conditioner, and let her part it and bring it to the front and brush from the bottom up to the scalp with a wide, soft cushioned brush. She mightl like the slow, gentle sensation of the brush on her scalp and the smell of the biosilk, if you don't rush her into brushing it. Let it take some time, if she has to keep it long. If you have a full face... keep it short. If you have a narrow face.... long is good. Plus if you have a certain shapped head... then there are different styles you'll have to go with. I go from long to short every few years...summer it is too hot to wear down, winter too cold to wear up so I usually alternate. Ilove being able to style my hair more often with longer, but it is time consuming to comb, wash, dry etc. Short is easy to do, but can get boring. Donating your hair to those with out is a very wonderful thing to do..after all, your will grow back, and it gives you the chane to play around with different styles each time you grow it back. Most men like women with longer hair it seems too!

I think your great for wanting to do so, i have lost both parents and grandparents to cancer. i grew up with long hair, that was something my father always wanted us girls to have, he loved it. My mother didn't feel the same nor did my sister.(to each his own i say). anyway i kept my hair long for my father but i have to admit it hasn't hurt my social life, i have met alot of men at clubs even in stores just coming up to say how much they love long hair and to tell me they think its great i never cut it.
